March 8-International Women´s Day History Was Made In Norway!
On this day a group of Ethiopian women that were in the folds of the Democratic Change Support Organization In Norway, (DCESON) got together and founded the first legal, official and politically oriented women´s group.
Meetings had began a few weeks before this day in preparation of staging this event.
Sure, there are women´s groups of different orientation that are Ethiopian, operating in Norway, but none that worked for ushering change through political means, and this has been a huge lack up until now.
It Was An Honour To Have Been A Part Of This Activity!
All who made this happen hope and believe that this will have long lasting results and change for the better for all the Ethiopian women in particular; but also for the whole Ethiopian society and the attitude in which women are perceived or thought of.
Ethiopian women are namely not stupid, nor docile, nor ignorant, nor full of inferiority complex.
Ethiopian Women:
are rather a dignified, quiet but wise lot, proud of their roots and country and willing to go all the way to find the right solutions to their country´s problems and implementing these solutions.
These women know and understand that to change the lot or place of the women of Ethiopia to a better and more humane position, A change in attitude and/or politics has to take place in ALL the Ethiopians.
A Win-Win Situation For All
This supposes that the men included as part of the workforce in activities for the expected change. They also shall help the women via dialogue in finding the way to the 21st century-style-of-thinking or managing societies/politics.
While change can generate fear in all who do not understand the quality or purpose of the change, the fear dissipates when the understanding of letting-go of the last centuary style in order to bring in the newest centuary is but a win-win situation for all.
Well done Women!! Congratulations!!
